In about the late 1870's a William Ashbaugh lived in Huntsvile, Ontario (Muskoka). The first newspaper in the growing hamlet "The Huntsville Forester" published interesting poetic biographies of local personalities in this newspaper in 1877. Apparently W. Ashbaugh built the Orange Hall and either owned or worked at a general Store.which later became Fisher & Goldie. He does not appear on the census for 1881 so by that time he had left the hamlet. (Huntsville did not become a village until 1886) Any Ashbaugh out there know who this man was? Where did come from and where did he disappear to? Thanks for any input to this puzzle. Barbara Paterson
